Wedding of one of my niece's and her father my brother walking her down the wooded isle to the beach to meet her groom and life's partner.

Original photo before I fixed to highlight the subject of the photo.  Really neat to take the picture and then fun making the change.

Silver Lights at Hubbard Park

Last night it was a priviledge to go and see the Silver Light display at Hubbard Park in Meriden, CT. There were thousands of lights in various shapes. Mostly animal from Swans as shown to Bears to Moose, to beaver to a Squirl in the tree. Really special.

Cardinal out my Backdoor

This is one or two male cardinals that we see out our backdoor.

We are fortunate that we get two pairs of cardinals to come and visit with little or no fighting.

We also get blue jays, chickadees, sparrows, woodpeckers and a plethora of other birds.

I have resolved the squirrel issue by putting the food they like on the ground and squirrel resistant food in the feeder.

I was able to stand inside my sliding glass door and take this picture while he looked around, made his snipping sound and ate.

Photography

These days I don't seem to have enough time or inclination to spend on my photo hobby. My daughter says that we don't have a camera in the house that works properly. I say with a little photoshop fix, they work fine. Here's a sunrise that I took a while back. I love the early morning and have taken many a sunrise. They are beautiful, awe inspiring and I never tire of seeing the next one. Enjoy!

August 25th Post

Hi, I have just read a really interesting article about sugar, how we should limit the amount of sugar we consume. I could no agree more with the article, links is: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204660604574370851517144132.html?mod=rss_Today's_Most_Popular

Quote: women no more than 100 calories or six teaspoons and men 150 which is about 9 teaspoons. I believe this is refined sugar found in processed foods like cereal, beverages, etc. I don't believe this includes sugars that are found naturally in fruit and vegetables.

I have been limited my sugars for over 4 years and I have been able to lose 20 pounds and keep that weight off over the past 4 years. I read the following article that I have put the link to here about 5 or more years ago. It will hep you see sugar in a whole new light, if you have never read about food and it's sugar content. I see that the Dr. Sears website has really updated itself over the years. There is a tone of information about family, nutrition, and so much more. I am only going to focus on the sugar as that is the article that I am referencing here today.

(Note: I realize this does not relate to photography - but it does relate to one of my other interest - health and well being).

Enjoy.
