August 25th Post

Hi, I have just read a really interesting article about sugar, how we should limit the amount of sugar we consume. I could no agree more with the article, links is: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052970204660604574370851517144132.html?mod=rss_Today's_Most_Popular

Quote: women no more than 100 calories or six teaspoons and men 150 which is about 9 teaspoons. I believe this is refined sugar found in processed foods like cereal, beverages, etc. I don't believe this includes sugars that are found naturally in fruit and vegetables.

I have been limited my sugars for over 4 years and I have been able to lose 20 pounds and keep that weight off over the past 4 years. I read the following article that I have put the link to here about 5 or more years ago. It will hep you see sugar in a whole new light, if you have never read about food and it's sugar content. I see that the Dr. Sears website has really updated itself over the years. There is a tone of information about family, nutrition, and so much more. I am only going to focus on the sugar as that is the article that I am referencing here today.

(Note: I realize this does not relate to photography - but it does relate to one of my other interest - health and well being).

Enjoy.

Nikon Support

One of my favorite websites to learn about my camera is the home web page of Nikon: http://www.nikonusa.com This is a great web page. I love the Learn and explore tab. Wow is all I have to say about this. It is really great way to learn about your camera and photography.

I recommend this page to anyone with a Nikon or someone wishing to learn about photography.

Check it out today.
Want to learn about how to choose the right digital camera for you. There is a really great web page called dpreview at this link: http://www.dpreview.com/ I highly recommend this site if you want to choose the perfect digital camera for you. There are all kinds of information regarding digital cameras. The reason I keep stressing digital, because it is exclusively for digital cameras.

The menu on that site is as follows: Latest News, Review/Previews, Lens Reviews, Camera Database, timeline, buying guide, sample galleries, challenges, discussion forums, learn/glossary, feedback, newsletter, blog, etc.

I used this site when choosing my camera. While I am not sure I got the very best camera a Nikon D200, I did based on the money I could afford to spend at the time. Most people do not need something as good as the D200, you may find the D90 will do for your needs. Difference in price is: D90 goes for around $900 and the D300s (replacement for the D200) goes for around $2000. (Estimated prices).

Enjoy the site and feel free to ask questions, if I can I will answer all questions.

I have been taking photos since I was about 15. My mom handed me the family camera and said I will never take another photo. I just started shooting family photos. I was hooked and have never stopped. My first SLR camera was a manual Fuji (not sure model). I found the camera on the tube in London somewhere around Victoria Station. I tried to return the camera to the guy who lost it. Couldn't make the connection. I kept the camera for about 5 years. My next camera was a Minolta manual. I had two models of that maker. I now have a Nikon D200 for about 2 years. I sold all my manual stuff and other things on E-bay so I could afford my first digital Nikon which was a D70. That camera was stolen off my front door step after being returned from being repaired. So I bought the D200 as a replacement. I love the digital. We just came back from a vacation at the Rhode Island beach with a great property right off the beach. We had one of the best vacations ever. Very relaxing. I am including a picture of one of the sunsets. Really beautiful.
