I used this site when choosing my camera. While I am not sure I got the very best camera a Nikon D200, I did based on the money I could afford to spend at the time. Most people do not need something as good as the D200, you may find the D90 will do for your needs. Difference in price is: D90 goes for around $900 and the D300s (replacement for the D200) goes for around $2000. (Estimated prices).
